A really fun singaround is yours at 7pm UK time on Saturdays, with a community of singers from around the world. Singers, listeners and lurkers are all welcome. The singaround is now being hosted by friends of the choir, please contact them at shanties@zohomail.eu for the Zoom details.

The theme is “shanties and sea songs” but we welcome anything people feel like singing, especially the classics! If the only shanty you know is South Australia or Leave Her Johnny, please sing it.

The singaround is a welcoming and joyful space for everyone who wants to join our crew, the only qualification to sing is that you’re aboard! And the only firm rule is: please do not sing songs with racist lyrics. If you’re in any doubt please ask, and remember shanties were always improvised, so adapting them to our times, and our community is keeping true to the tradition.
